Inspired by her clever, creative grand niece artists, Colleen’s challenge was to transform their drawings into 3-D sculptures of cardboard and paper maché. She enjoyed constructing, measuring, and fitting parts together that were strong and visually engaging.
Colleen Maloney is a painter and printmaker, inspired by familiar subjects and unfamiliar techniques.
The four “f’s”—flowers, food, family and friends are consistent themes in her work. She loves sharing the world she knows with others.
But the creation of this work differs greatly from one series to another. Colleen challenges herself to learn, experiment, and always, always try something new. That’s where the fun is!
