Meg’s inspiration for these pieces and the series following was prompted by a walk through Battle Point Park. The geometry seemed to be its own language playing against these large areas of color and light insinuating a a sense of serenity.
Meg W. Hartwell received her MFA from Otis Parson’s School of Design in Los Angeles, CA. She has lived throughout the United States, mostly in Phoenix and currently resides in Bainbridge Island, WA. She has traveled throughout parts of Mexico and Guadalajara. She has shown her work in Luxemburg, Phoenix, New York, Guadalajara, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Bainbridge Island. She primarily works in painting and printmaking and wood.
